Olde Golden Candlelight Walk @ Foothills Art Center

Candlelight NightsExperience the beauty of the holiday season with a walk down Washington Ave., candle in hand, singing carols this Friday, Dec. 3.

The pre-walk holiday show starts at 5 p.m. on the stage at 10th and Washington. The walk starts at 6:30 p.m. at Foothills Art Center on 15th St. and will culminate with a short, live entertainment program, and lighting of the lights.

GHS Holiday Bazaar @ Golden High School

Golden High School Holiday Bazaar with free admissionCome do some holiday shopping at the Annual Golden High School Holiday Bazaar held by the GHS PTA.

With plenty to choose from and a variety of goods from over 70 different vendors, you can make a big dent on your holiday shopping list.

This is a fundraiser for the students at Golden High School, helping with scholarships, grants, and more.

The Bazaar will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4 at Golden High School, 701 24th St. Includes free parking and admission.

Jefferson Symphony OrchestraThe Jefferson Symphony presents Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro Overture” and selections from Bizet. Conducted by the esteemed William Morse, and featuring soprano Emily Murdoch and tenor James Baumgartner, the JSO returns to the Colorado School or Mines Green Center (924 16th St.) for their 69th season.
Please note that proof of vaccination and masks are required to attend this performance.

Historic Preservation Board Meeting

The Historic Preservation Board has a number of responsibilities regarding the preservation and upkeep of Golden’s many historic sites.

The Board meets on the first Monday evening of each month in public hearing at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the calendar. Study sessions may be scheduled the third Monday of each month.

GPD Hosts Pictures with Santa @ Golden Community Center

Santa lowers his glasses and says Golden PD Ho, ho, hosts...Santa is coming to visit the Golden Police Department, Wednesday, Dec. 8, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Golden Community Center, 1470 10th St.

Come and meet Golden Police Officers, Elves from the North Pole, and get your picture taken with Santa!

Kids, bring your letters to Santa! Officers will be collecting letters and making sure Santa receives them.

There will be FREE cookies, coloring, crafts, and lots more!

COVID-19: Child Holiday-Themed Masks will be available. Photographs will be taken OUTSIDE. Santa is fully vaccinated. The Jefferson County Board of Health has issued Public Health Order 21-006, which requires all individuals ages 3 and older to wear a mask or cloth face covering when in indoor public spaces in Jefferson County, regardless of vaccination status.

Economic Development Commission Meeting

The Economic Development Commission (EDComm) was established by Golden City Council in June of 1999 and consists of seven members. The purpose of the Economic Development Commission is to provide leadership, education, and the tools necessary for the Golden community to optimize appropriate economic opportunities. Their duties include developing a structure and strategy for marketing/promoting the Golden community.

Community Sustainability Advisory Board Retreat @ TBA

Golden Sustainability logoThe mission of the Community Sustainability Advisory Board (CSAB) is to assist the City of Golden in achieving the ten-year sustainability goals. In order to facilitate achievement of these goals, the Board will lead, encourage, enable, and empower the citizens, visitors, and people who work in Golden, to live in a sustainable manner.

The Community Sustainability Advisory Board will hold a Board Retreat on Thursday, December 11 to discuss their 2022 Strategic Plan. The meeting is open to the public at the Fossil Trace Golf Club.

The parade route runs along Washington Ave. from 10th St. to 13th St. and will feature elves, marching bands, floats, Victorian carolers, antique cars, the Grinch, Buffalo Bill and, of course, Santa!
