The City of Golden invites the public to attend the 2023 State of the City address. Join Mayor Laura Weinberg for this important community address which will include presentations from City Council and city leadership celebrating the City of Golden’s successes in 2022 and goals for 2023.

Questions for the Q&A session can be submitted ahead of time on the State of the City Guiding Golden page.

This event is free to the public and refreshments will be served.  All members of the Golden community are invited to attend.

Historic Preservation Board Meeting @ Council Chambers

The Historic Preservation Board has a number of responsibilities regarding the preservation and upkeep of Golden’s many historic sites.

The Board meets in Council Chambers on the second Wednesday evening of each month in public hearing at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the calendar. Study sessions may be scheduled as needed.

4-Day Workweek Community Listening Session @ Council Chambers

Hand flips a block from 5 to 4 next to other blocks reading The City of Golden strives to be a regional leader, bringing new innovations to government. This summer, the City is launching a 4-day workweek program trial for all Police Department employees who will move from a 40-hour work week to a 32-hour work week without a change to pay.

The City is partnering in the development and evaluation of the trial with the non-profit organization 4 Day Week Global (4DWG) who are leaders in promoting the benefits of a productivity-focused and reduced-hour workplace.

Join the City of Golden for a Community Listening Session about this exciting new program on May 22, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 911 10th St.

Mobility & Transportation Advisory Board Meeting @ Council Chambers
May 25 @ 6:00 pm

The Mobility & Transportation Advisory Board offers a venue to evaluate the relationship between mobility of all types and the economy, sustainability, safety, land use, neighborhood integrity, and emergency response times; and study the importance of transportation access to health care, employment, education, housing, business, and recreational facilities.

MTAB meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

REDI Task Force Meeting @ Council Chambers

The REDI (Racial Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) Task Force is comprised of nine individuals (including both community members and city employees) who were carefully selected by the REDI Subcommittee to represent different experiences, perspectives and expertise, and lead the important work of improving equity and inclusion in Golden.

The first meeting will be held June 1, 4:30 – 6 p.m. in City Council Chambers. Everyone is welcome to attend this and all future meetings, which will include additional participation and learning opportunities.

Coffee With Councilors (with special guest Scott Vargo) @ Community Center Coal Creek Room

A coffee cup sits near a laptop computer.Join your neighbors for Coffee with Councilors at 10 a.m. in the Golden Community Center Coal Creek room (1470 10th St.) for a special Coffee with Councilors. This month, Scott Vargo will join as a special guest to discuss the recent Fire Department Cooperative Services Study and Council’s direction to have GFD remain a standalone municipal fire department.

Participants unable to attend in person can also join us online (bring your own coffee!).

Bring your thoughts, ideas and questions and let’s have a conversation!

Earth Day Celebration at DeLong Park @ DeLong Park

 Golden was named after Thomas L. Golden,
a gold prospector who arrived in Jefferson County in 1858.
