Golden Police Chief Bill Kilpatrick and Golden City Manager Jason Slowinski invite you to a virtual community conversation focused on the topic of Racial Equity at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30.

This virtual event will take a deeper dive into some of the issues brought up during the October Community Listening Session as we seek to make Golden a more welcoming place.

Join the Golden Planning Division on December 1 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for a virtual community meeting to discuss a 2020 update of the South Golden Neighborhoods Plan.

Staff will review the results of our summer surveys and take additional feedback from attendees. This will be the perfect opportunity to get involved with the project, even if you missed the initial surveys; there will be additional questions to refine our understanding of those initial results. Participants will be able to use interactive tools that will provide staff live feedback during the virtual meeting. We look forward to your participation!

The Planning Commission, established in 1948, affords residents the opportunity to actively participate in the planning of the City and its welfare; to learn all facets of the regulations governing such functions; interact with a wide variety of citizens participating in the shaping of Golden’s future; and assume an active role in any regulation changes involving zoning and subdivision activity.

Planning Commission public hearings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Planning Commission Study Sessions recur on the third Wednesday of each month.

The Public Art Commission (PAC) has the responsibility of promoting, selecting, acquiring and maintaining public art in the fulfillment of the City’s Art in Public Places program.

PAC meets on the first Thursday of each month from 9 to 10:30 a.m. These meeting are open to the public.

The Golden City Council meets every second and fourth Thursday at 6:30 p.m., unless rescheduled due to holidays or other events happening in the City.

The Historic Preservation Board has a number of responsibilities regarding the preservation and upkeep of Golden’s many historic sites.

The Board meets on the first Monday evening of each month in public hearing at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the calendar. Study sessions may be scheduled the third Monday of each month.

The Economic Development Commission (EDComm) was established by Golden City Council in June of 1999 and consists of seven members. The purpose of the Economic Development Commission is to provide leadership, education, and the tools necessary for the Golden community to optimize appropriate economic opportunities. Their duties include developing a structure and strategy for marketing/promoting the Golden community.

The Golden Urban Renewal Authority (GURA) implements urban renewal projects consistent with community values.

The Local Liquor Licensing Authority meets on the third Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise noted. These meetings begin at 2:30 p.m.

The Board is comprised of a Hearing Officer, who is appointed by City Council.
