Join the Golden Planning Division on December 1 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for a virtual community meeting to discuss a 2020 update of the South Golden Neighborhoods Plan.
Staff will review the results of our summer surveys and take additional feedback from attendees. This will be the perfect opportunity to get involved with the project, even if you missed the initial surveys; there will be additional questions to refine our understanding of those initial results. Participants will be able to use interactive tools that will provide staff live feedback during the virtual meeting. We look forward to your participation!

Join the Planning Commission and Community Sustainability Advisory Board subgroup to discuss sustainable energy buildings and ideas for amendments to the residential green building standards, also known as the Residential Sustainability Menu, Section 18.24 of the Golden Municipal Code. This subgroup will focus on:

- Review of precedence from other communities / City in and outside of Colorado
- Possible measures
- Prioritization of appropriate, effective policy measures to close gaps.

Join City Councilors Casey Brown and Bill Fisher for a virtual meeting on Thursday, Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss and answer questions about a potential Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between Colorado School of Mines and the City of Golden.

The zoning code rewrite consultants are making the finishing touches to the initial code draft and it will be available to the public in late January. You are invited to join a virtual community meeting on Jan. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. This meeting is intended to educate the community on the code’s contents and how it has been constructed. Upon the release of the draft, the community will have approximately one month to review it, make comments, and provide those comments to the Planning Division and the consultants for consideration.

The second open house for the US6 & Heritage Interchange redesign will take place on Wednesday, February 24 at 6 p.m. The virtual meeting will include a presentation describing four alternatives for the interchange with an opportunity to ask questions and provide input. Golden community members are invited to join the Golden Police Department for a District 2 Virtual GPD Community Safety Update meeting on March 18 from 6 to 7 p.m. Participants will meet Chief Bill Kilpatrick and Ward 4 Councilor Bill Fisher, and watch a presentation on auto theft trends by the Colorado Metro Autotheft Task force. Tips for crime prevention will also be offered, followed by an opportunity for community members to ask questions.

Join our Public Works staff and hired consultants for the next US6 & Heritage Road Interchange public meeting, happening Wednesday, June 9 at 6 p.m. The focus of the meeting will be pedestrian and bike improvements.

In an ongoing effort to address the visitation pressure on our park system, Jefferson County Open Space is currently updating the access and trailheads component of the South Table Mountain Park Plan. This plan proposes a new main trailhead at Denver West and improvements to access points on Golden Hills Road and Rimrock Drive. As part of the ongoing public engagement about these potential improvements, Jefferson County Open Space held a stakeholder listening tour this spring and a virtual community meeting on April 8. The community meeting kicked off a 30-day public comment period to solicit feedback on proposed plans.
For the next step in these efforts, Jefferson County Open Space and the City of Golden will be co-hosting a virtual community meeting on June 22 at 6 p.m. to discuss design alternatives for the access points at the Rimrock Drive and Golden Hills Road locations. Additionally the meeting will present and seek feedback on alternatives for pedestrian and multimodal improvements to Rimrock Drive. Please register online in advance for the meeting.
