Come share your questions, ideas, and thoughts about issues involving our Houseless community with city leadership.
The first meeting will be June 28 from 6 to to 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers and online. The meeting’s focus is the City listening to your feedback on the topic.
This will be a hybrid in person/virtual meeting. If you are comfortable join us in person at City Hall, 911 10th Street. If you prefer to join us virtually, please use this link to join the meeting.
The second meeting will be August 3 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers and online. The second meeting’s focus is for the City to respond and talk about what some of the causes of homelessness locally and what the City is doing about it. We will have a panel to speak on the topic including our Police Chief, Homeless Navigator, the City’s legal counsel, community representatives, and more. Learn more at: www.GuidingGolden.com.

Join the Community Sustainability Advisory Board (CSAB) for free inspirational garden tours on Saturday, July 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants will be able to visit eight amazing gardens throughout Golden and neighboring communities, and local gardeners will share their best practices for creating gardens that are sustainable and earth-friendly.
Registration for this event closed on July 21 at 5 p.m.
The City of Golden is kicking off a project to plan and design transportation improvements along US 40 (West Colfax Avenue) between Violet Street and I-70. This project aims to enhance transportation choices and connectivity while increasing safety.
Community members will have the opportunity to learn about the project and provide feedback regarding their vision for the corridor during the project’s first open house, being held online at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 29. Initial community input will be used to help evaluate improvement alternatives.

This second meeting will be August 3 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers and online. The meeting’s focus is for the City to respond and talk about what some of the causes are of homelessness locally and what the City is doing about it. The panel will discuss what is happening regionally and locally in terms of the unhoused population. Our Regional Coordinator Kelli Barker will be there to share data and information from the county level, our Homeless Navigator Rebekah Rudabaugh will speak about her work in Golden, and the City Attorney will discuss the constitutional and legal rights and boundaries involving the people who are unsheltered. The panel will end with information about how the City is addressing houselessness and discussing some of the challenges.
