The free Olde Golden Christmas Parade starts at 10:30 a.m. with cowboys on horses, floats, marching bands, old cars, elves on unicycles, the Grinch in his corvette, and of course, Santa Claus. The parade winds down Washington Avenue with lots of activities before and after including snappy barbershop quartets, hot cider, Victorian carolers, and antique fire trucks. Come out to the annual Colorado Cowboy Poetry Gathering (CCG) in Golden, Colorado, January 19 – 21, 2017 for a celebration of western heritage. Each day of the Gathering features different shows, classes and programming, primarily at the American Mountaineering Museum. The Mines Music Spring Concert is on Sunday, April 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Ford building on the Colorado School of Mines campus, 1301 19th St.
The vocal music groups will perform from 1 to 2 p.m. and the Concert Band from 2 to 3 p.m. The Xi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity will hold a prize raffle at the end, with a chance to win many great prizes donated by businesses in the Golden area.
