Join the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra for an afternoon of beautiful holiday music featuring our special guests, the Golden High School 24th Street Singers. It’s a program of festive favorites that is sure to put you in the holiday spirit. Also on the program is Stravinsky’s lively composition, Petrushka, based on a story about a mischievous puppet by the same name.
Plus, you can get a head start on your holiday shopping at our annual Silent Auction featuring many unique gift ideas.
Saturdays in December, authentic and historic downtown Golden becomes a festive holiday center with traditional decorations and fun family events. The free Olde Golden Christmas Parade starts at 10:30 a.m. with cowboys on horses, floats, marching bands, old cars, elves on unicycles, the Grinch in his corvette, and of course, Santa Claus. The parade winds down Washington Avenue with lots of activities before and after including snappy barbershop quartets, hot cider, Victorian carolers, and antique fire trucks. Presented by the Golden Chamber of Commerce. *Rain, snow, or shine*

The annual Chili Cook-off is GHS’s largest fundraising event. Enter your favorite chili in one of four categories, or just bring the family for all-you-can eat chili and shop the silent auction.
Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door.

Taste of Golden features samplings from a wide variety of Golden’s fine dining restaurants, eateries, and sweet-shops, as well as from local Breweries and Distilleries.
This is an opportunity to sample some of the best that Golden culinary treats that Golden has to offer.
A limited number of tickets are available and no tickets will be sold at the door, so plan ahead and purchase your tickets soon on the Golden Chamber of Commerce website.
The Mines Music Spring Concert is on Sunday, April 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Ford building on the Colorado School of Mines campus, 1301 19th St.
The vocal music groups will perform from 1 to 2 p.m. and the Concert Band from 2 to 3 p.m. The Xi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity will hold a prize raffle at the end, with a chance to win many great prizes donated by businesses in the Golden area. This is a major fundraiser for the band program and money raised goes toward new instruments and other band essentials. For more information, contact Robert Klimek at rklimek@mines.edu.
This is a progressive night that mashes up the community of The Wright with local businesses and organizations of Golden by encouraging exploration of historic downtown. This year’s events, specials and partnerships are hosted by a number of different businesses.
