Whether riding the Giddyup event or not, this event in Lions Park offers a day of fun in the sun. Enjoy bluegrass, beers, and bike-time on Sunday, September 16 with dozens of great bike brands displaying their wares. This family-friendly event includes a kids’ bike course from Avid4Adventure, shenanigans from REI, food trucks, beer and whiskey.
For the second year, the Giddyup has teamed up with New Terrain Brewery who are making tasty brew just for this event, with proceeds from the sales supporting the Golden Giddyup’s trail efforts.
On Sunday, September 23, 2018 Golden’s biggest annual race will take place for the 13th year running. Starting beneath the City’s famous ‘Welcome’ arch, right in the center of historic downtown Golden, and finishing in Parfet Park beside gushing Clear Creek, the Golden Gallop will lead its runners on 5k and 10k loops. Both runners and walkers are welcome!

The Railroad Halloween Town is a safe place to enjoy Trick or Treating. Catch a ride behind a historic Denver & Rio Grande Steam Locomotive in vintage passenger cars hosted by conductors and engineers in full costume.
Visit all of the special stops to fill your treat bags and tickle your funny bones including the “not so spooky” Haunted Railcar and the Olde Railroaders Silly Graveyard. Enjoy local food, kettle corn, shaved ice and even get your face painted. Finally, get a great picture of your costume as you pose in front of the Pumpkin Patch cart. The 5th annual Be A Tool 5k Run (On Small Business Saturday) is being held to help support the growth of the Neighborhood Rehab Project. In September of this year, over 1,000 volunteers came together in Golden, Arvada, Englewood and Idaho Springs to help work on projects for folks in need of warm, safe and dry conditions. Proceeds from this race will go directly toward future projects in 2018 and 2019.

The 5K Elf Run will start under the Golden (“Howdy Folks”) arch on Washington street in Golden at 8:30 a.m. Walk up registration and race day packet pick up will take place in front of Cafe 13 on Thirteenth Street in front of the Armory building.
On Saturdays in December, authentic and historic downtown Golden becomes a festive holiday center with traditional decorations and fun family events! The free Olde Golden Christmas Parade starts at 10:30 a.m. with cowboys on horses, floats, bands, old cars, elves on unicycles, the Grinch in his corvette, and of course, Santa Claus.
The parade winds down Washington Avenue with lots of activities before and after including snappy barbershop quartets, hot cider, Victorian carolers, and antique fire trucks. The parades are presented by the Golden Chamber of Commerce.

The GHS Dance Team will hold a Mini Poms Dance Clinic on Saturday, February 9 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Golden High School Main Gym with a special appearance by Caitlynn Kern, Broncos cheerleader and GHS Dance Team alumni.
This 3-hour dance clinic is for kids in Kindergarten though 6th Grade. Participants will work on dance skills, play games and learn a dance to be performed with the award-winning GHS Dance Team at a Golden High School Basketball game on February 12 at 7 p.m.
