Ullrgrass Music Festival @ Buffalo Rose & Parfet Park

UllrGrass Festival 2019For the 5th year, beer lovers dressed in Viking regalia will gather in Parfet Park during the last weekend in January to celebrate winter and sample beers from more than 27 breweries and cideries from around the state and beyond.

UllrGrass Music and Beer Festival is named after the Norse God of Winter – Ullr. It was created to toast the winter and celebrate great music and craft beer – viking costumes optional!

Golden Business Panel for Non-profits @ Council Chambers

Business Panel on March 20 2019Are you a business or nonprofit looking to connect? Coors, NREL, Bob’s Atomic Burgers, Connect Workspace, Powder 7, and Wells Fargo will discuss their approaches to corporate philanthropy and collaboration with Golden nonprofits. Join the discussion at noon on Wednesday, March 20, in Council Chambers.

The objectives of the panel are to: 1) Help businesses and nonprofits in Golden get to know one another better; 2) Identify collaborative or partnership opportunities; 3) Explore tools that our community could use to connect businesses to nonprofits; and 4) Explore ways to
track the volunteer hours that businesses and residents provide to nonprofits. Panelists include Bob’s Atomic Burgers, Connects Workspace, Coors, NREL, Powder 7 and Wells Fargo.

CASA Champions for Children Breakfast 2019 @ Denver Marriott West

On Thursday, April 11, 7:30 a.m., start the day off at the Denver Marriott West with free breakfast while learning about CASA of Jefferson and Gilpin Counties. In the past year, approximately 800 children were involved in 600 open cases of abuse and neglect in Jefferson and Gilpin counties. CASA Jeffco/Gilpin advocated for 385 children.

At this free breakfast event, you’ll hear from someone who personally benefited from CASA Jeffco/Gilpin and learn how you can get involved as a volunteer and/or donor and help the organization advocate for more children.

Their 2019 Story Seeds Conference takes place April 12 – 14 with a public concert open to all on April 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. The concert will feature Carolina Quiroga-Stultz, Angel Vigil, and Liz Weir.

story seeds conferenceRocky Mountain Storytelling (RMS) is a nonprofit, volunteer-led organization of storytellers, story listeners and story lovers based in Golden, CO. Their 2019 Story Seeds Conference takes place April 12 – 14 with a story SLAM on April 13, 7 to 9 p.m. at the American Mountaineering Museum. The theme of the story slam is “Illusion.” Come with a five minute story and put your name in the hat. One by one names will be drawn and the storyteller will take the stage. Story can be true or a traditional tale, but no notes can be used. The winner will be selected by a panel of judges.

2019 Easter Egg Hunt @ Parfet Park

Easter Egg HuntThe Golden Kiwanis, with the assistance of their sponsored youth (Builders Club, Key Club, and Circle K) along with the Golden Chamber of Commerce and local merchants provide thousands of stuffed plastic eggs for the kids of Golden to enjoy at Easter.

On the morning of the hunt, eggs are spread throughout Parfet Park with different areas for different age groups. Once the bell sounds, kids clean the park in 30 seconds or less and head into downtown for more activities, so don’t be late!
