* A message from JeffCo Open Space: Due to escalating concerns over COVID-19 and to prioritize the health and safety of our employees and community, we have decided to cancel the second Heritage Square Exchange Community Meeting, scheduled for Thursday, March 19. The presentation from the first community meeting, given on March 10, is currently available online at www.jeffco.us/hse. Jeffco Open Space (JCOS) will host two community meetings, on Tuesday, March 10 and Thursday, March 19 from 5:30 – 7 p.m., about the potential Heritage Square Land Exchange. Both meetings will take place at the Origins Hotel Red Rocks, 18485 W Colfax Ave.

In 2019, JCOS received a proposal for a land exchange with Martin Marietta Materials (MMM). The proposed HSE agreement includes the exchange of 64 acres of JCOS property to expand the current Specification/Aggregate mine located on US 40, north of I-70, for approximately 131 acres of MMM property.

The public is encouraged to join one of the upcoming community meetings to learn more about, and comment on, the proposed exchange. Each meeting will include a presentation and question/answer session.
