Jefferson County Open Space (JCOS) will host a community meeting on February 7, 6 to 7 p.m. in the Golden Community Center to discuss their proposal to install gates on Lookout Mountain Road that would automatically close, limiting vehicle access during park closure hours and significant snow events.
Mobility data, interactions with law enforcement, trash, and significant property damage all show that the posted park hours aren’t being followed. In fact, the area is busier at midnight than it is at 10 a.m. on weekends. This creates a safety risk and threatens Lookout Mountain’s important natural and cultural features.
A 15 to 20 minute presentation will be followed by a Q & A session.
Join us each month for friendly conversation and support in planning and implementing future Front Porch activities.
Meetings take place on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. in the Front Porch area at the Golden Community Center. All are welcome!
Come with ideas or ready to help be a part of planning activities for Front Porch Friends.
