Autumn Fest logoAutumn Fest is a free celebration of Golden featuring hands-on activities for the whole family, including crafts, big trucks, and even farm animals!

Join us to welcome the fall season at Golden History Museum (923 10th St.) with free and low-cost family-friendly activities:

  • Make-your-own thaumatrope station and lawn games (hoop toss, ladder ball, and cornhole)
  • 4-H petting zoo
  • Craft stations
  • BIG TRUCKS (Streets, Fire, and Police Departments)
  • Costumed Civil War interpretation
  • Karate demonstration

Public Art Commission Meeting @ Council Chambers

The Public Art Commission (PAC) has the responsibility of promoting, selecting, acquiring and maintaining public art in the fulfillment of the City’s Art in Public Places program.

PAC meets on the first Thursday of each month from 9 to 10:30 a.m. These meeting are open to the public.

GFD Safety Day @ Golden Fire Station 1

Come out to Fire Station #1 at 911 10th Street on Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a free, Fire Prevention Week Safety Day, sponsored with the help of local and regional partners.

Activities for all ages will be featured, including fire truck tours, live fire demonstrations, and the opportunity to practice hands-on fire safety skills with first responders.

Light refreshments provided.

Metro Denver Green Homes Tour @ American Mountaineering Center

Find out how your neighbors are living better AND saving money at the annual Metro Denver Green Homes Tour. This year, the tour features an outstanding group of fifteen homes that have opened their doors wide in welcome, ready to inspire your eco-friendly home innovations.

All the homes are described in a large colorful booklet that is free with each $10 ticket.

Come explore an eco-friendly tiny home, visit the solar growing dome, try demo bikes and explore the EV Roundup of locally owned EV’s and new dealer models.

Enjoy free appetizers, local beverages and live music. It’s an event not to be missed!

Trick or Treat Street @ Downtown Golden

On Halloween, Oct. 31 from 3 to 5:00 p.m., downtown Washington Ave. will be closed to cars and filled instead with tiny zombies, super-heroes and other masked little ones, all ready to fill their trick-or-treat bags in a safe atmosphere with candy provided by local Golden merchants.

Bring your little ones for some sugar-saturated, non-spooky fun!
