The Public Art Commission (PAC) invites the community to Foothills Art Center on Wednesday, July 18 at 6 p.m., to meet commission members, discuss current and future projects, and give input on the public art process and direction in Golden.
This event is free to the public and light refreshments will be provided.
Join in a week-long celebration of the arts! ARTSWEEK GOLDEN includes activites that will take place throughout Golden such as yarn-bombing of Golden sculptures, performance art, sidewalk chalk masterpieces, and plein air painting. Parking spots along Washington Avenue will be converted into pop-up art studios.
The festival will culminate in a weekend arts festival with more than 100 national artists exhibiting their works in a spectacular setting on the Colorado School of Mines campus. Foothills Art Center (FAC) is organizing the entire event.

VAN-DEMONIUM is your chance to drool over vans and draw inspiration for your own adventure rig! Adventure rigs come in many shapes and sizes—from Sprinters with all the bells and whistles to the family mini-van with a home done conversion. This event will have vans on vans, plus beer, live music, games, and raffles so there’s something for every member of the family.
Hosted by Foothills Climbing Community, in partnership with American Mountaineering Museum. Beer from 14er Brewing Company. Vans from TouRig, Vanworks, and more.
A Golden icon for nearly three decades, Golden Fine Arts Festival is a prestigious juried art show located in the heart of historic downtown Golden.
With its prime location and free admission to the public, this premier event draws over 35,000 visitors over 2 days to enjoy art, live performances, craft beer, food vendors, and children’s activities.
The established art fair will be limited to 134 artists selected through a competitive jury process. Cash prizes of over $2,000 await 1st and 2nd place winners in nine categories, as well as Best of Show and Best of Colorado honors.

The Colorado School of Mines will conduct the next and final Neighborhood Open House to present the draft of the Mines Master Plan. Please join us to see how the campus will evolve over the coming years.

Foothills Animal Shelter (FAS) hosts the third annual Toby’s Pet Parade & Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8. The parade will go along Washington Avenue and end in Parfet Park, corner of 10th Street & Washington Avenue. Hundreds of animal lovers and their dogs in costumes will walk in the parade and compete for prizes in categories like “Doggie Diva,” “Best Group,” and “Most Original.”
After the parade, enjoy a fair with a beer garden, food trucks, live music, dog flyball demonstrations, family friendly games, vendor booths and much more. For more information and to register, visit www.tobyspetparade.org.
All proceeds will go to care for the more than 9,200 animals who enter FAS each year, providing essential medical, behavioral and life-saving care to homeless pets.
