A Jefferson Symphony tradition and audience highlight continues with the JSO Holiday Concert. JSO musicians share the stage with vocalists Christie Conover and James Baumgardner in December and return to the newly designed Green Center at Colorado School of Mines. Howard Hanson’s musical homage to the 19th-century “Symphony No. 2 (Romantic)” is programmed alongside Peter Boyer’s bold and brassy “Festivities.”

Join in the holiday spirit and watch floats, clowns, festive holiday characters, and Santa Claus on the firetruck parade down Washington Avenue. After the parades, head to the downtown area shops and restaurants. Each parade is different, providing the perfect reason to bring the family back to Golden again and again!

Golden United, in partnership with other community members, is hosting a vigil and march to honor black lives lost, and to raise awareness of ongoing racial inequality. Join this peaceful gathering on Sunday, June 7 at 2 p.m. in Parfet Park to improve awareness of the unjust treatment of black Americans and discuss how we can together address this issue and similar challenges for all people of color. This event will also be broadcast via Facebook/Instagram live.
