The Planning Commission, established in 1948, affords residents the opportunity to actively participate in the planning of the City and its welfare; to learn all facets of the regulations governing such functions; interact with a wide variety of citizens participating in the shaping of Golden’s future; and assume an active role in any regulation changes involving zoning and subdivision activity.

Planning Commission Study Sessions recur on the third Wednesday of each month. Study Sessions are open to the public, but are for information only, and no public hearings or votes will take place during the meeting. To participate in a Planning Commission public hearing, those meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. (unless otherwise noted).

The Golden United Housing Task Force will meet virtually on Wednesday, September 2 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. via Zoom. All are welcome and no registration is needed.

This week, guest speakers will include Lori Rosendahl, Executive Director/CEO, and Aaron Kloke, Housing Developer, Foothills Regional Housing. An update will also be shared on the Flats at Ford Street, 612 24th Street, an affordable 44-unit family community coming to Golden.

The Heart of Golden 2020 project is an exciting opportunity for the community to help us envision a Clear Creek Corridor for the future! COVID-19 slowed the project down, but it continues on and we hope you will engage with us and share your ideas and dreams for the Heart of Golden! We are hosting neighborhood-specific engagement meetings. These meetings will be held virtually and will present an opportunity for you to give feedback as we refine the design options that are a result of the visioning phase.
