Help the Kiwanis Club of Golden raise money for scholarships while tasting wines from small craft wineries and enjoying the music of Soularus.
Wine tasting event takes place at Calvary Church, just one block west of Table Mountain Inn, on Oct. 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Whether you’re a runner or a walker, come, be active, and join this fun community event to support Golden High School! All money raised by Demon Dash will benefit Golden High School students by funding technology and co-curricular activities such as clubs and athletics.
Parking
Race participants are encouraged to park in the parking lots on the northeast side of Golden High School. The lots are accessible via S. Golden Road (off the roundabout) and 24th Street at Willow Creek Drive.
The start line is on 24th Street directly in front of Golden High School.
For over 45 years, the Golden Civic Foundation’s Annual Auction has been the event of the year for prominent members of the Golden community who love our town.
This event is the primary fundraiser for the Foundation’s grant program. Through the contributions of many businesses and individuals in our community, in the past 45 years the Civic Foundation has provided over $5.1 million to support charitable organizations, public schools, museums and cultural centers in the greater Golden area.
We’re ramping up to have this year’s auction be the pinnacle event kicking off your holiday season! While honoring our past traditions, we’ll also introduce some fun additions including mobile bidding, while extending the evening to include dancing and live music!
The evening’s music will include The Six Million Dollar Band. Get your dancin’ shoes ready!
The 3nd annual Be A Tool 5k Run is happening on Small Business Saturday and the proceeds will help support the growth of the Neighborhood Rehab Project (NRP). In September of this year approximately 750 volunteers came together in Golden, Arvada and Englewood to help work on projects for folks in need of warm, safe and dry conditions. Proceeds from this race will go directly toward future projects in 2016 and 2017.
The 5K will start at 8:30 a.m. under the Welcome to Golden Arch with check-in starting at 7:30 a.m. Runners will finish on 12th Street where they can enjoy a free pancake breakfast and win prizes from Golden’s local businesses. Prizes will be awarded for the best elf costumes! Categories include adult, child, group and pet. Race participants will also receive a reusable goodie bag with discount coupons to Golden businesses and an event t-shirt. The first 200 registrants will also receive a free elf hat.

Their annual Holiday Concert & Fundraiser takes place December 3 starting 7 p.m. at the Colorado School of Mines Green Center, and will feature Johannes Brahms, Symphony no.2 as well as traditional holiday favorites.

Come out to the annual Colorado Cowboy Gathering (CCG) in Golden, Colorado, January 19 – 22, 2017 for a celebration of western heritage. Each day of the Gathering features different shows, classes and programming, primarily at the American Mountaineering Museum. The Colorado Cowboy Gathering (CCG) is dedicated to exploring, presenting and preserving the diverse and dynamic cultural heritage of the American West. CCG celebrates the wisdom, artistry and ingenuity of western folkways through exhibitions, statewide outreach educational programs, and a premier annual event held in January – a vital link to the past, present and future, and where the traditions of the cowboy and the Code of the West are shared through stories, poetry, song and verse.
The third-annual UllrGrass music and beer festival will be held in Parfet Park and the Buffalo Rose on Friday January 27 – Sunday January 29, 2017.
The event includes something for nearly everyone kicking off with the UllrGrass Park Parade, followed by a festival complete with premier musical acts from Colorado to Nashville, a kids activity area, food vendors, artisan vendors, musician workshops and more. Golden is a vibrant, active, healthy community with a love of the outdoors and UllrGrass provides an opportunity to get outside and enjoy our town – even in mid-winter. Take in the views of Golden’s iconic Mesas from Parfet Park while grooving to the toe-tapping rhythm of a bluegrass, jamgrass or Americana band.

Enjoy a free evening of music on Friday, April 28, 7 p.m., in Bunker Auditorium in the Green Center at Colorado School of Mines. The night kicks off with performances from the concert choir and various guitar ensembles, and ends with a performance from the concert band.
In addition to great music, the night will include a raffle to raise money for the CSM band. Funds raised will go toward purchasing new instruments, repairing and maintaining current instruments in bad shape, section lesson coaches for the band and orchestra, and more.
You can purchase raffle tickets before the concert in the lobby, or ahead of time either on April 22 from 12-3 p.m. at the E-Days Carnival, or from tables set up in the Pedestrian Plaza in front of the Student Recreation Center on campus from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., April 24-28. For $1 each ticket, you can win small prizes such as cupcakes from Gold Mine Cupcakes, gift cards from Anthony’s pizza and Woody’s pizza, a Chick-Fil-A gift basket, and much more! You must be present to win these prizes. Also available are $2 tickets (or 3 tickets for $5) for larger prizes including 1) a free night stay and breakfast at the Omni Interlocken Resort and Spa, 2) 3 months of free martial arts classes from Victory Martial Arts in Golden, and 3) an “outdoors basket” including the earth treks climbing passes, free guided mountain tours from Golden Mountain Guides, and 2 free bike rentals from Bentgate Mountaineering.
