Public Art Commission Meeting @ Council Chambers

The Public Art Commission (PAC) has the responsibility of promoting, selecting, acquiring and maintaining public art in the fulfillment of the City’s Art in Public Places program.

PAC meets on the first Thursday of each month in City Hall Council Chambers at 911 10th Street, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. These meeting are open to the public.

Golden Urban Renewal Authority Meeting @ Council Chambers

In 1989, the Golden City Council created the Golden Urban Renewal Authority (GURA) to support the economic vitality of downtown Golden. When the Golden City Council created GURA, it also adopted an Urban Renewal Plan to provide guidance to GURA. The organization implements urban renewal projects, consistent with community values.

Economic Development Commission Meeting @ Golden Public Works Building

The Economic Development Commission (EDComm) was established by Golden City Council in June of 1999 and consists of eight members. The purpose of the Economic Development Commission is to provide leadership, education, and the tools necessary for the Golden community to optimize appropriate economic opportunities. Their duties include developing a structure and strategy for marketing/promoting the Golden community.

The Economic Development Commission meets regularly on the second Tuesday of each month starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Public Works/Planning building located at 1445 10th Street. If a meeting must be rescheduled for some reason, the date will be noted on the Community Calendar.

City Council Organizational Meeting @ Council Chambers

The Golden City Council meets in Council Chambers in City Hall every second and fourth Thursday at 6:30 p.m., unless rescheduled due to holidays or other events happening in the city. This is the first meeting of the year.

Parks, Recreation and Museums Advisory Board Meeting @ Golden Community Center

The Parks, Recreation & Museums Advisory Board was created in 1982 in order to increase community involvement, and to advise Golden City Council and staff on how to best provide safe and comprehensive parks and recreation facilities, programs, and services on behalf of all current and future residents of the City of Golden.

The board consists of seven members and one alternate who serve four-year terms, making suggestions about policies and procedures, fees and charges, acceptance of park land, design of parks, and other projects relating to the Parks and Recreation Department.

Planning Commission Meeting @ Council Chambers

The Planning Commission, established in 1948, affords residents the opportunity to actively participate in the planning of the City and its welfare; to learn all facets of the regulations governing such functions; interact with a wide variety of citizens participating in the shaping of Golden’s future; and assume an active role in any regulation changes involving zoning and subdivision activity.

Planning Commission public hearings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers. Planning Commission Study Sessions recur on the third Wednesday of each month.

Mobility & Transportation Advisory Board Meeting @ Public Works Building

The Mobility & Transportation Advisory Board (MTAB) is a citizen advisory board focused on mobility and transportation issues in the City of Golden. The main duties of the board include traffic operations, school zone safety, traffic calming, planning and funding priorities for transportation and mobility capital improvements, and parking management systems.

Additionally, MTAB will have various advisory and collaborative duties dealing with transportation and mobility.

As a newly formed board, this first meeting will largely consist of housekeeping items such as schedule, introductions, electing a chair and vice chair, and preliminary discussions about bylaws, goals, and so forth.

Downtown Development Authority Meeting @ Council Chambers

The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is a special district entity authorized and directed by state statute to benefit the economic and community vitality of the downtown area. The DDA will also be authorized to provide tax increment economic incentives to eligible redevelopment projects, much like GURA was able to do in the past.

The DDA meets on the third Monday of each month (unless otherwise noted on the calendar) at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers.

CANCELED: Community Sustainability Advisory Board Retreat @ Fossil Trace Golf Course Clubhouse

The mission of the Community Sustainability Advisory Board (CSAB) is to assist the City of Golden in achieving the ten-year sustainability goals. In order to facilitate achievement of these goals, the Board will lead, encourage, enable, and empower the citizens, visitors, and people who work in Golden, to live in a sustainable manner.

The Community Sustainability Advisory Board will meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., unless rescheduled for holidays or a lack of quorum. Meetings are open to the public. The first meeting of the year is the board retreat at the Fossil Trace Golf Course clubhouse.
