What: Public Open House session for Mines Master Plan project
When: April 19, 2018, 5:30 –7 p.m.
Where: Starzer Welcome Center – 1812 Illinois Street
The public is invited to an open house to offer input into the Mines Master Plan. The video presents the alternative development concepts that have emerged from our earlier master planning meetings. Anyone planning to come to the meeting is encouraged to watch the entire video in advance to prepare for discussion at the meeting.
At this session, the public is invited to comment on alternatives to the physical plan. The alternatives in the video were derived from campus and public input compiled during the previous months. This session is geared towards receiving input from the City of Golden and the public at large.

Join VFW Post 4171 in honoring those who died in active military service at the Golden Cemetery on Memorial Day. The service will begin at 11 a.m.
VAN-DEMONIUM is your chance to drool over vans and draw inspiration for your own adventure rig! Adventure rigs come in many shapes and sizes—from Sprinters with all the bells and whistles to the family mini-van with a home done conversion. 
This event will have vans on vans, plus beer, live music, games, and raffles so there’s something for every member of the family.
Hosted by Foothills Climbing Community, in partnership with American Mountaineering Museum. Beer from 14er Brewing Company. Vans from TouRig, Vanworks, and more.
The Colorado School of Mines will conduct the next and final Neighborhood Open House to present the draft of the Mines Master Plan. Please join us to see how the campus will evolve over the coming years.

Imagine helping your neighbors and fellow residents on what could be the worst day of their lives. The Golden Fire Department (GFD) is in search of men and women who live in Golden who want to become part of the City’s amazing team of volunteer firefighters.
By joining the GFD, you learn much more than how to put out fires. You will learn medical rescue techniques, high angle rescue, swift water and ice rescue, how to save people from car crashes, and much more. You will be helping your neighbors, friends and fellow residents in one of the most long-standing and honorable ways possible for Golden volunteers.
Do you want to learn more about what it takes and if you would be the right fit for the GFD? Join us for one of two open houses to meet the staff and volunteers and get all of your questions answered. Come enjoy free food and refreshments and let us get to know you! Visit the graves of legendary Golden characters. Hear stories about their lives from storytellers and guides, Dennis Potter and Troy Rodriquez.
Tours begin and end at the Golden Cemetery. Two tours are available: 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Meet at the Golden Cemetery, 755 Ulysses St. Registration is required – you can learn more and register online at GoldenHistory.org. Tours are free for Golden History Museum & Park members, $10 for non-members.
Program will be canceled if minimum attendance number is not reached 24 hours prior to start time.
