The Golden History Museum & Park is thrilled to announce that, following a six-month closure to renovate the building, the Golden History Museum (GHM) will reopen on Saturday, June 23! To celebrate the renovation and the Museum’s 80th anniversary, GHM will have a FREE public open house on Saturday, June 23 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Westernaires will be on hand from 10 a.m. to noon to add to the festivities with cavalry, trick roping, ponies and more. The Museum is located at 923 10th St.

Whether you’ve been to GHM many times or never before, this will be a whole new experience. All of the exhibits and displays are new, there are many hands-on areas, and for the first time, the work that’s done behind the scenes to restore artifacts will now be in plain view. For more information and details call 303-278-3557 or visit GoldenHistory.org.

See new programming spaces, a research center, a hands-on gallery for families with young children, and dynamic new exhibits that highlight the City’s collection of historic objects.

Coffee with a Cop @ Café 13
Oct 3 @ 7:00 am – 10:00 am

Coffee with a CopIn 2011, the idea of Coffee with a Cop was born in a small California town. Since then, there have been thousands of these coffee gatherings in all 50 states and even in 14 different countries. Golden Police participated in the past, but it fell off the radar in recent years. Now, Golden Police officers want to bring it back to our city.

“I believe it is going to be a good thing to bring this event back to Golden,” said event organizer Corporal Adam Lanning. “Many of our citizens like to speak and talk to officers and this just gives them another opportunity.”

Join the Golden Police Department for Coffee with a Cop from 7 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at Café 13, 1301 Arapahoe St.  The owners of Café 13 have graciously agreed to host the event and provide free coffee and pastries to anyone who comes. There is no agenda and no speeches, just open and honest communication in a comfortable environment. We hope to see you there!
