For the 5th year, beer lovers dressed in Viking regalia will gather in Parfet Park during the last weekend in January to celebrate winter and sample beers from more than 27 breweries and cideries from around the state and beyond.
UllrGrass Music and Beer Festival is named after the Norse God of Winter – Ullr. It was created to toast the winter and celebrate great music and craft beer – viking costumes optional!

Golden is celebrating International Golden Retriever Day, in partnership with Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies, on February 3, 2019 by inviting Golden Retrievers and their humans to gather in Golden for a meet-up at the Visitors Center.
Starting at noon, pooches and their people are invited to gather at the Visitors Center for a free dog photo and swag from Golden business, KONG, for the first 100 participants. From there, pups and their people will walk through Golden and along Clear Creek at 12:30 p.m., pausing under the Golden Arch for photos. The event will end at 1:30 p.m.

Bring the family to the Golden High School for all-you-can-eat chili (mac-n-cheese for the non-chili eaters) and dessert and help support the GHS PTA on February 21 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door.
The Chili Cook-off will also feature a silent auction. In past years the silent auction has included event tickets, vacations, art, sports memorabilia, jewelry and more.
All proceeds help support Golden High School students.
Are you a business or nonprofit looking to connect? Coors, NREL, Bob’s Atomic Burgers, Connect Workspace, Powder 7, and Wells Fargo will discuss their approaches to corporate philanthropy and collaboration with Golden nonprofits. Join the discussion at noon on Wednesday, March 20, in Council Chambers.
The objectives of the panel are to: 1) Help businesses and nonprofits in Golden get to know one another better; 2) Identify collaborative or partnership opportunities; 3) Explore tools that our community could use to connect businesses to nonprofits; and 4) Explore ways to
track the volunteer hours that businesses and residents provide to nonprofits. Panelists include Bob’s Atomic Burgers, Connects Workspace, Coors, NREL, Powder 7 and Wells Fargo.

Rocky Mountain Storytelling (RMS) is a nonprofit, volunteer-led organization of storytellers, story listeners and story lovers based in Golden, CO. Their 2019 Story Seeds Conference takes place April 12 – 14 with a public concert open to all on April 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. The concert will feature Carolina Quiroga-Stultz, Angel Vigil, and Liz Weir.
