This year the Golden Gallop will offer a HYBRID event, with an in-person race on September 19, or an option to complete a race during a ‘virtual’ race window from Sept. 11 to Sept. 19. Choose from multiple race options, including a Kid’s Fun Run, a 5K and a 10K. Whether in-person or virtual, kids, families, and friends from all over are encouraged to participate. The event raises funds for the Golden Schools Foundation which provides educational funding for seven Golden articulation schools.
Join your neighbors for a day of celebration and community service on National Public Land Day! The City of Golden, in partnership with Jefferson County Open Space and the City of Wheat Ridge, is sponsoring a Clear Creek Clean-up.
Participants will be working along a 22 mile stretch of the Peaks to Plains Trail along Clear Creek. Past efforts have resulted in the collection of 12,220 pounds of trash. Mismanaged trash that escapes into waterways can create a wide range of problems. Aquatic trash affects water quality, endangers plants and animals, and pollutes the outdoor spaces that we depend on for tourism and recreation.
The canyon will be closed for this very special event.
Volunteers must Sign up online to participate in this special day of community service.
Afterwards, be sure to join a post-project celebration at the Gateway Trailhead in Golden. Volunteers will be treated to live music, free food from a handful of food trucks and beer for individuals 21 years of age and older.
Both runners and walkers are welcome for this annual, fun, community event! All funds raised by Demon Dash will benefit Golden High School students by funding technology and co-curricular activities such as clubs and athletics.
Race day registration is available beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Golden High School the day of the race (Saturday, November 5th), or you can learn more and register online in advance for an individual or a group.
