Shop for gently used, new and antique books, along with DVDs, CDs, and records for children and adults.

The sale opens to the public on Friday, October 18 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. with free admission, or pay $10 for Early Bird Admission at 8 a.m.  On Saturday, the sale is again open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., and teachers, Friends of JCPL and Jeffco Employees enjoy 50% savings on purchases. October 20, the final day of the sale runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The community driven Golden United Housing Task force is advancing actions to improve access to affordable housing for all income levels while preserving Golden’s unique small town character.

All are welcome for this meeting on Thursday, October 24 from 6 to 7:45 p.m. in the Golden Public Library. Ann Norton will lead a discussion about preservation of affordable housing.

The community driven Golden United Housing Task force is advancing actions to improve access to affordable housing for all income levels while preserving Golden’s unique small town character.

The full Housing Task Force will meet from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This will feature a discussion with CSM on how we can work together to address and manage student housing needs.

Following that, the Preserving Existing Housing Subgroup will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. All are welcome to participate in this subgroup.​

All are welcome to both meetings on Tuesday, November 19 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the “fish bowl” meeting room at the Colorado School of Mines Arthur Lakes Library.

Celebrate women at the 5th annual Jeffco International Women’s Day on March 3 at Baldoria on the Water, 146 Van Gordon Street in Lakewood. The event is sponsored by SCL Health Lutheran and the City of Golden, with additional corporate sponshorships from Genesee Mountain Foundation, IX Power Clean Water, and corporate contributor, Coach Stacy’s Healthy U. Proceeds will benefit Porchlight Family Justice Center and the Jefferson County Library Foundation.

CU Regent Heidi Ganahl & founder of “Camp Bow Wow” will be the keynote speaker at this event during lunch. The winner of the “Unsung Heroine” Award will be announced as well, and Marjorie Sloan will be presented with the “Shattered Glass” Award. Archaeology isn’t just about digs in exotic locations far away from here. Golden has a rich history that we’re still “uncovering”! Stop by the Golden History Museum (923 10th St.) on Saturday, April 30 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and visit with archaeologist Amy Gillaspie while she photographs artifacts collected during the Astor House Community Archaeology Project excavation of summer 2021.

Learn more about the Astor House dig site, ask about a day in the life of an archaeologist, or just take a look at the artifacts. Amy specializes in social changes at Front Range historic sites and has also excavated at Plains sites in Colorado and North Dakota, at Classic Maya sites in Belize, and for the US Department of Defense on a World War II recovery mission in France. This a free drop-in event with NO registration required.
