In-person 2020 Election Voting
Nov 2 @ 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

If you have been waiting to vote in-person, you may do so at Golden City Hall, 911 10th Street from from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, November 2 or from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3.

If you prefer to drop off your ballot, there are numerous ballot drop boxes in Jefferson County, including the 24-Hour Ballot Drop Box located at Golden City Hall, 911 10th Street. Your ballot MUST be received by 7 p.m. on November 3.

Morning StArt: An Artist Coffee Meetup with Nikki Nienhuis

Morning StArt is a joint one-hour coffee meetup program designed to bring artists in the area together with the Golden community, to meet and talk about art. These Meetups are jointly sponsored with the Golden Public Arts Commission and the Foothills Art Center.

Candlelight Nights: Be Merry, Be Bright Share Your Golden Light

Olde Golden Christmas Candlelight NightsAlthough the annual Candlelight Walk is cancelled, the holiday spirit will still be illuminated throughout Golden.

On Dec. 4 at 7 p.m., there will be a virtual live stream of Golden Mayor Laura Weinberg throwing the switch to illuminate downtown Golden’s annual holiday lights. From their homes, Golden residents are invited to share their Golden light by placing candles in their windows and displaying all season long in festive citywide solidarity.

To make sure your house gets a commemorative candle, call the Golden Chamber of Commerce at 303-279-3113 or stop by On Tap Credit Union, 816 Washington Avenue (while supplies last), after Nov. 30 to pick one up.

CSM Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) Neighborhood Meeting

US6 & Heritage Interchange Open House

The second open house for the US6 & Heritage Interchange redesign will take place on Wednesday, February 24 at 6 p.m. The virtual meeting will include a presentation describing four alternatives for the interchange with an opportunity to ask questions and provide input. The login information for the open house is below.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Conversations About Mental Wellness @ Virtual

Conversations about Mental Wellness: What is wellness and how can we understand it?

Join the Golden Community Partners and Golden United for the first in a series of conversations about Mental Wellness.  The virtual event will feature the Jefferson Center’s community based support program, Colorado Spirit, which provides free and confidential mental health support during the COVID-19 health crisis.  Crisis counselors can help community members understand and manage stress and connect them with other support options.

The event is free but registration is required.

Golden Town and Gown Book Club @ Virtual

Golden Town and Gown Book Club (TGBC) will discuss When Rivers Run Dry, by Fred Pearce in a Zoom meeting on April. Mr. Pearce is an entertaining, British writer, with an international perspective.

The topic of water supply is thought by some to rival climate change in importance to our country. The discussion leader will be Mines Professor of Hydrology Kamini Singha, who was the 2019 Mines Faculty Senate Distinguished Lecturer on the topic of water supply.

The meeting will begin with City Councilor Jim Dale giving a brief encomium to Bill McKee, one of  Colorado’s water experts, who was to lead the discussion of this book.  Bill passed away suddenly in February.

A Greener Golden Event @ Public Works & Planning Building
May 15 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

If you ordered a Garden In A Box kit, come out to pick up your kit between 12 and 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 15 during the Greener Golden Event at the Public Works and Planning Building (1445 10th St). Residents can also take advantage of FREE compost and vegetable seeds.

Golden Sustainability is pleased to also offer FREE electronics recycling for Golden residents at this year’s event! This drop-off event will last from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please bring a Colorado ID or driver’s license for verification of residency, be prepared to wear a mask, and social distance.

Future of US 40 Online Open House

The City of Golden is kicking off a project to plan and design transportation improvements along US 40 (West Colfax Avenue) between Violet Street and I-70. This project aims to enhance transportation choices and connectivity while increasing safety.

Community members will have the opportunity to learn about the project and provide feedback regarding their vision for the corridor during the project’s first open house, being held online at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 29. Initial community input will be used to help evaluate improvement alternatives.
