The Golden Cruise 2022 @ Calvary Church Celebration Plaza
Sep 27 @ 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Woman poses with her bike before the cruise gets started.This family-friendly event, sponsored by the Golden Community Commons group, takes place on the last Tuesday of the month, May through September.

Gather at Calvary Church’s Celebration Plaza at 5:30 p.m. for music, food, raffles and New Terrain Brewery on site serving beer and cider. A themed, costumed bike cruise heads off at 6:30 p.m. for a ride around Golden before heading back to the Plaza for more fun that continues until 9 p.m.

  • September 27:  Zombies!!

Demon Dash 5K Run/Walk @ Golden High School

Both runners and walkers are welcome for this annual, fun, community event! All funds raised by Demon Dash will benefit Golden High School students by funding technology and co-curricular activities such as clubs and athletics.

Race day registration is available beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Golden High School the day of the race (Saturday, November 5th), or you can learn more and register online in advance for an individual or a group.

Homestead for the Holidays @ Golden History Park

Three women in festive holiday dress gather around a campfire with the lights of Golden behind them.Homestead for the Holidays lets you experience the winter season just like the pioneers did. This family-friendly event will have you strolling through Golden History Park, taking in the colorful decorations, making a craft that you get to take home, and basking in the season. It’s time to go homestead for the holidays!

Valued volunteers make this event possible and will serve as interpreters within the historic structures to answer questions and guide your experience.

Advance registration is required.

Homesteading the West: The Tale of Lavinia Morgan Anderson @ Golden History Museum

Pioneer family Wannemaker cabin from the 1800sJoin us at the Golden History Museum on April 19 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. to learn about the adventures and life of Lavinia Morgan Anderson as told by storyteller, Linda Batlin. Lavinia is a fictional character, but her story is drawn from the snippets of diaries kept by many real pioneer women who immigrated west in the 1800s and created a new life in Colorado. is a composite character of a pioneer woman living on a ranch in Colorado in the late 1880s. Come and hear about the adventures of Lavinia Morgan Anderson and gain a better understanding of the challenges, privations, fears and triumphs of pioneer women.

Western on Washington: A Saloon Stroll @ YoColorado

Western on Washington Saloon Stroll logoPutting the ‘fun’ in fundraiser, this annual event supports the efforts of the Mitchell Elementary PTA with a stroll down the ‘saloons’ of Washington Avenue.

Check in at YoColorado (805 12th Street) from 6 – 7 p.m., then head to the Buffalo Rose for boot scooting to the music of the “Gnarbillys,” while bidding on unique auction items.

July 7 and Sept. 1 of the free series will hosted in Parfet Park (10th Street and Washington Avenue) in downtown Golden.

On Aug. 4, we’ll be moving the event down the street to the Lions Park Ballfields (10th St. and Maple).

Golden Fire Department Pancake BreakfastWho better to fire up the griddle than Golden’s Firefighters! Don’t miss out on their tasty pancakes and bacon. Invite your friends and family to join you on the morning of Saturday, July 27, at the Golden Fire Station, 911 10th St., to fuel up your belly before heading to the Buffalo Bill Days parade.

The breakfast begins at 6 a.m. and lasts until just before the Buffalo Bill Days parade at 10 a.m. This is a great opportunity to meet Golden’s first responders in a fun and interactive way.

Purchase your tickets at the Fire Station 1 or from your favorite Golden Firefighter. Keep in mind that the biggest crowds are between 8:45 and 9:45 a.m., so try to come early. Funds raised at the breakfast go toward advanced training, equipment, and other support services for the Golden Fire Department.

Golden Farmers Mini-Market @ Golden High School Upper Lot

Golden Farmers Mini Market will be at the GHS on Saturday July 29.The Golden Farmers Market, sponsored by the Golden Chamber of Commerce, will not be at its regular place this weekend due to Buffalo Bill Days.

Join us at the Golden High School upper lot from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday July 29 for a “Mini Market”.

Movies & Music in the ParkJoin us for a night of free family-friendly movies and live music for the last evening of the Movies & Music in the Park series, hosted by the City of Golden.

On Sept. 1, we’ll  move from our regular location at Parfet Park to the Lions Park Ballfields (10th St. and Maple) just down the street.

As usual, music will kick off at 7 p.m., but tonight, we have an extra special treat with fireworks after the music, before the movie starts!
