City Council Study Session and Regular Business Meeting @ Council Chambers

The Golden City Council meets every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers (911 10th St.), unless rescheduled due to holidays or other events happening in the City.

Council will first have a Study Session at 5 p.m. on January 10 to discuss DRCOG Transportation Improvement Program Applications, Short Term Rentals, and Multi Use Fields.

The Regular Business Meeting will follow at 6:30 p.m.

Historic Preservation Board Meeting @ Council Chambers

The Historic Preservation Board has a number of responsibilities regarding the preservation and upkeep of Golden’s many historic sites.

The Board meets in Council Chambers on the second Wednesday evening of each month in public hearing at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the calendar. Study sessions may be scheduled as needed.

The Economic Development Commission (EDComm) was established by Golden City Council in June of 1999 and consists of seven members. The purpose of the Economic Development Commission is to provide leadership, education, and the tools necessary for the Golden community to optimize appropriate economic opportunities. Their duties include developing a structure and strategy for marketing/promoting the Golden community.

Community Sustainability Advisory Board Meeting @ Council Chambers

Sustainability in GoldenThe mission of the Community Sustainability Advisory Board (CSAB) is to assist the City of Golden in achieving the ten-year sustainability goals. In order to facilitate achievement of these goals, the Board will lead, encourage, enable, and empower the citizens, visitors, and people who work in Golden, to live in a sustainable manner.

The Community Sustainability Advisory Board will meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., unless rescheduled for holidays or a lack of quorum. Meetings are open to the public.

Howdy Downtown Program Open House @ Golden Community Center

Join Golden planning staff for an open house for the Howdy Downtown Program on Tuesday, January 31, from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Golden Community Center.

The open house will primarily focus on the Downtown Parking Study, with space for the Bike/Ped Master Plan, Outdoor Business Program and Miners Alley/Pop Up Plaza.

Public Art Commission Meeting @ Council Chambers

The Public Art Commission (PAC) has the responsibility of promoting, selecting, acquiring and maintaining public art in the fulfillment of the City’s Art in Public Places program.

PAC meets on the first Thursday of each month from 9 to 10:30 a.m. These meeting are open to the public.

Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Study Session @ Council Chambers

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board was created to increase community involvement, and to advise Golden City Council and staff on how to best provide safe and comprehensive parks, recreation and museum facilities, programs, and services on behalf of all current and future residents of the City of Golden.

The board consists of seven members and one alternate who serve four-year terms, making suggestions about policies and procedures, fees and charges, acceptance of park land, design of parks, and other projects relating to the Parks and Recreation Department.

 Golden was named after Thomas L. Golden,
a gold prospector who arrived in Jefferson County in 1858.
