The Planning Commission, established in 1948, affords residents the opportunity to actively participate in the planning of the city and its welfare; to learn all facets of the regulations governing such functions; interact with a wide variety of citizens participating in the shaping of Golden’s future; and assume an active role in any regulation changes involving zoning and subdivision activity.
Planning Commission meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month, unless otherwise noted on the calendar.

The Local Licensing Authority meets on the third Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise noted. These meetings begin at 2:30 p.m.
The Board is comprised of a Hearing Officer, who is appointed by City Council.

The City of Golden aims to ensure that everyone in our community, regardless of ability level, has access to all programs, facilities, services, and civic engagement/participation opportunities provided by the City. This includes access to facilities and programs on public property as well as city-provided digital services.
With guidance from external consultants and following the guidelines provided by Title II of ADA (28 CFR Part 35 Sec. 35.105 and Sec. 35.150, the City of Golden has conducted a self-evaluation of its services, programs, activities, and facilities on public property to determine where we still have work to do. City staff across multiple departments have developed a draft Accessibility Transition Plan detailing the methods to be used to ensure compliance with ADA program accessibility requirements.
The City invites residents and other interested parties to review the ADA Transition Plan draft and join us online or in person for a community meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers.

The mission of the Community Sustainability Advisory Board (CSAB) is to assist the City of Golden in achieving the ten-year sustainability goals. In order to facilitate achievement of these goals, the Board will lead, encourage, enable, and empower the citizens, visitors, and people who work in Golden, to live in a sustainable manner.
The Community Sustainability Advisory Board will meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., unless rescheduled for holidays or a lack of quorum. Meetings are open to the public.

The Mobility & Transportation Advisory Board offers a venue to evaluate the relationship between mobility of all types and the economy, sustainability, safety, land use, neighborhood integrity, and emergency response times; and study the importance of transportation access to health care, employment, education, housing, business, and recreational facilities.
MTAB meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is a special district entity authorized and directed by state statute to benefit the economic and community vitality of the downtown area. The DDA will also be authorized to provide tax increment economic incentives to eligible redevelopment projects, much like GURA was able to do in the past.
The DDA meets the third Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the calendar to accommodate holidays or other scheduling conflicts.

The Public Art Commission (PAC) has the responsibility of promoting, selecting, acquiring and maintaining public art in the fulfillment of the City’s Art in Public Places program.
PAC meets on the first Thursday of each month from 9 to 10:30 a.m. These meeting are open to the public.

The Historic Preservation Board has a number of responsibilities regarding the preservation and upkeep of Golden’s many historic sites.
The Board meets in Council Chambers on the second Wednesday evening of each month in public hearing at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the calendar. Study sessions may be scheduled as needed.
