- Official event photography opportunities under the iconic “Welcome to Golden” Arch
- Photo ops under our mini “Welcome to Golden” Arch
Trained, friendly, and leashed dogs are invited, and owners are kindly requested to please clean up after their dog.
Event Schedule
- 11 a.m. – Meet and greet in Parfet Park where you can enjoy complimentary “pup cup” treats, pose for photos under our mini Welcome Arch, purchase official Goldens In Golden merchandise, browse the vendor village and meet Golden based pet organizations.
- 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12 p.m. – Official Event Photography: three separate opportunities to join a group photo under the Welcome Arch on Washington Ave.
- 1 p.m. – Official festivities end at 1 p.m. and Washington Avenue will re-open to vehicle traffic. Afterwards, head out around Golden on your own. There will be many dog-friendly deals, plenty of patios and lots of nearby trails to enjoy!
Jefferson County Open Space (JCOS) will host a community meeting on February 7, 6 to 7 p.m. in the Golden Community Center to discuss their proposal to install gates on Lookout Mountain Road that would automatically close, limiting vehicle access during park closure hours and significant snow events.
Mobility data, interactions with law enforcement, trash, and significant property damage all show that the posted park hours aren’t being followed. In fact, the area is busier at midnight than it is at 10 a.m. on weekends. This creates a safety risk and threatens Lookout Mountain’s important natural and cultural features.
A 15 to 20 minute presentation will be followed by a Q & A session.
