Hiring Process

The City of Golden hiring process can vary, but may include one or more of the following: application review and evaluation, performance test, written test and/or oral interview examination.

Jobs may be listed with a closing date or as continuous. If there is a closing date you must submit your application and all supplemental attachments by that date. If it is listed as open until filled, the hiring manager may review applications and contact candidates at any time.

Once your application has been received, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.  Processing time may take 1 to 3 weeks for positions that are listed as open until filled. For positions with a closing date, the process typically takes 1 to 2 weeks after the closing date.

Candidates who are selected to move forward in the process, will receive communication by phone or e-mail, so please make sure you are checking the email address you provided.

All applicants must be willing to submit to a background investigation and reference checks. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation. All applicants offered employment must pass a drug screen which includes marijuana.

In the event someone from the City does not contact you, you will not receive further correspondence. Please continue to check our current openings and apply for future opportunities.
