Coffee with Councilors @ Harmony Village Common House

Chat with your District councilors for the final Coffee with Councilors meeting of the year on December 7 at 10 a.m. in the Harmony Village Common House at 1001 Cottonwood Circle. Please park on Illinois St. and walk a short distance to the Common House which is located in the center of Harmony Village.

This is a great opportunity to connect with City Councilors about the issues important to you in the community. It’s also a good opportunity to wish Councilor Saoirse Charis Graves well and thank her for two terms of dedicated service as District 1 Golden City Councilor. JJ Trout will be sworn into office as the District 1 City Councilor in January.

GHS Holiday Bazaar 2019 @ Golden High School

Hoiday Bazaar flyer with snowmen. December 7, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.Come do some Christmas Shopping at the Annual Golden High School Holiday Bazaar held by the PTA of Golden High. With one-of-a-kind gifts from over 90 different local artists, you can make a big dent on your holiday shopping list.

This is a fund raiser for the students at Golden High School, helping with scholarships, after prom party, grants, and more.

The Holiday Bazaar will be held at the Golden High School, 701 24th St, Golden on Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Includes free parking and admission.

Golden Concert Choir Holiday Performance 2019 @ United Methodist Church

Golden Concert ChoirThe Golden Concert Choir will perform the Carol of the Bells, Sherpherds’ Farewell, 3 Carols by PDQ Bach, and Huron Carol among other holiday favorites at 4 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 7530 W. 38th Ave.

JSO Holiday Concert 2019 @ CSM Green Center

Jefferson Symphony OrchestraA Jefferson Symphony tradition and audience highlight continues with the JSO Holiday Concert. JSO musicians share the stage with vocalists Christie Conover and James Baumgardner in December and return to the newly designed Green Center at Colorado School of Mines. Howard Hanson’s musical homage to the 19th-century “Symphony No. 2 (Romantic)” is programmed alongside Peter Boyer’s bold and brassy “Festivities.”

Planning Commission Study Session @ Council Chambers

The Planning Commission, established in 1948, affords residents the opportunity to actively participate in the planning of the City and its welfare; to learn all facets of the regulations governing such functions; interact with a wide variety of citizens participating in the shaping of Golden’s future; and assume an active role in any regulation changes involving zoning and subdivision activity.

Planning Commission Study Sessions recur on the third Wednesday of each month. Study Sessions are open to the public, but are for information only, and no public hearings or votes will take place during the meeting. To participate in a Planning Commission public hearing, those meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers (unless otherwise noted).

Sustainability Task Force Meeting @ Council Chambers

Do you have great ideas about sustainability in Golden? Are you ready to dive in and turn the community’s sustainability ideas into action? If so, mark your calendars for an upcoming sustainability task force meeting.

The Community Sustainability Advisory Board (CSAB) is looking for interested residents, local experts, and community activists to help in the following tasks:

  • Identify data and resources needed to determine impacts.
  • Review drafts of the 2020 Sustainability Strategic Plan.
  • Help campaign for top priorities.

Each task force meeting will focus on one of the three sustainability goal areas : Water, Waste and Energy. Community members are invited to participate in one or more task forces of interest. To participate, simply show up to one of the task force meetings listed below. Refreshments will be provided.
