This is a community-wide walk on November 10 that starts in Parfet Park in downtown Golden and ends on the Colorado School of Mines campus on Kafadar Commons in front of the CoorsTek building, where a mental health wellness fair will be held directly following the walk.

The purpose of this walk is to raise awareness about the impact suicide has on the Golden community, promote suicide prevention efforts and conversations, and remember those lost to suicide. Participants will be provided with colored beads to wear that symbolize their connection to this cause. This is a free event open to everyone.

When: Saturday, November 10, 2018 – check in at 9 a.m., walk starts at 10 a.m.

The Golden Safety Academy was created to help educate and empower citizens with information and resources that enhance their personal safety and crime prevention. This free academy is held once a month from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the second Monday of every month in the Golden Fire Department, except for the June class, which will be on Tuesday, June 12 in Council Chambers. The Golden Investment Forum Task Force is charged with outreach to the community to review the community amenities, enhancements, and improvements proposed in recent years to determine the amount of community support for these proposals.

Please join the City of Golden’s Planning Commission and staff for a public workshop hosted by the City’s transportation consultant. This workshop will discuss mobility within the City of Golden and how it will relate to the new Transportation Master Plan. Your input is needed to help create the plan! On Wednesday, January 30, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., join Jeffco Open Space at the Golden Community Center for a brief presentation on the next segment of the Peaks to Plains Trail in the mouth of Clear Creek Canyon. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions of Jeffco Open Space staff.

The mission of the Community Sustainability Advisory Board (CSAB) is to assist the City of Golden in achieving the ten-year sustainability goals. In order to facilitate achievement of these goals, the Board will lead, encourage, enable, and empower the citizens, visitors, and people who work in Golden, to live in a sustainable manner.

The Community Sustainability Advisory Board will hold a special meeting on February 5, 2019, to discuss their 2019 Work Plan and Sustainability Draft Goals. The meeting is open to the public.
