Mark Your Calendar for this Year’s Water-Wise Seminar – Plant Selection for a Water-Wise Landscape on April 17 at 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Golden Community Center, 1470 10th Street.
What does “xeric” mean and how much water do these plants really need? Kenton Seth of Paintbrush Gardens will show you how to distinguish between the barely rugged dryer-growing plants at the garden center and those that thrive with literally no irrigation, and how to use both in your Golden yard to best effect. Find out which ones are ugly ducklings at the nursery, but become stunning swans that will impress your most dubious neighbors. We will learn how to choose what parts of your yard get less or no water, and how to select and establish plants for those spots so you can enjoy the long-term actual payoffs proclaimed by Xeriscape and dry garden advocates.
