Heart of Golden Community Meeting @ Council Chambers
Apr 25 @ 5:30 pm

Project logo for the Heart of Golden project on the Clear Creek CorridorPlease join us on Monday, April 25 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall (911 10th St.) for another community meeting to discuss the Heart of Golden project as we continue to refine the final design.

The City has heard feedback from the public meetings in March and through engagement on Guiding Golden requesting we ensure the potential pathway from 8th Street to 10th Street would have minimal impact on the Community Garden and would be bicycle/pedestrian only. We have also heard that Pickleball and Tennis Courts within the Clear Creek Corridor are a priority for many members of the community. A location will be identified as a home for these popular recreation attractions along the corridor.

Visit Guiding Golden to view an interactive map of the concept design where you can pin thoughts and feedback.

Visit an Archaeologist at the GHM @ Golden History Museum
Apr 30 @ 11:00 am – 2:00 pm

Archaeology isn’t just about digs in exotic locations far away from here. Golden has a rich history that we’re still “uncovering”! Stop by the Golden History Museum (923 10th St.) on Saturday, April 30 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and visit with archaeologist Amy Gillaspie while she photographs artifacts collected during the Astor House Community Archaeology Project excavation of summer 2021.

Learn more about the Astor House dig site, ask about a day in the life of an archaeologist, or just take a look at the artifacts. Amy specializes in social changes at Front Range historic sites and has also excavated at Plains sites in Colorado and North Dakota, at Classic Maya sites in Belize, and for the US Department of Defense on a World War II recovery mission in France. This a free drop-in event with NO registration required.
