A Golden icon for nearly three decades, Golden Fine Arts Festival is a prestigious juried art show located in the heart of historic downtown Golden.
With its prime location and free admission to the public, this premier event draws over 35,000 visitors over 2 days to enjoy art, live performances, craft beer, food vendors, and children’s activities.
The established art fair will be limited to 134 artists selected through a competitive jury process. Cash prizes of over $2,000 await 1st and 2nd place winners in nine categories, as well as Best of Show and Best of Colorado honors.

Foothills Animal Shelter (FAS) hosts the third annual Toby’s Pet Parade & Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8. The parade will go along Washington Avenue and end in Parfet Park, corner of 10th Street & Washington Avenue. Hundreds of animal lovers and their dogs in costumes will walk in the parade and compete for prizes in categories like “Doggie Diva,” “Best Group,” and “Most Original.”
After the parade, enjoy a fair with a beer garden, food trucks, live music, dog flyball demonstrations, family friendly games, vendor booths and much more. For more information and to register, visit www.tobyspetparade.org.
All proceeds will go to care for the more than 9,200 animals who enter FAS each year, providing essential medical, behavioral and life-saving care to homeless pets.

The Railroad Halloween Town is a safe place to enjoy Trick or Treating. Catch a ride behind a historic Denver & Rio Grande Steam Locomotive in vintage passenger cars hosted by conductors and engineers in full costume.
Visit all of the special stops to fill your treat bags and tickle your funny bones including the “not so spooky” Haunted Railcar and the Olde Railroaders Silly Graveyard. Enjoy local food, kettle corn, shaved ice and even get your face painted. Finally, get a great picture of your costume as you pose in front of the Pumpkin Patch cart. The parade winds down Washington Avenue with lots of activities before and after including snappy barbershop quartets, hot cider, Victorian carolers, and antique fire trucks. The parades are presented by the Golden Chamber of Commerce.

The GHS Dance Team will hold a Mini Poms Dance Clinic on Saturday, February 9 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Golden High School Main Gym with a special appearance by Caitlynn Kern, Broncos cheerleader and GHS Dance Team alumni.
This 3-hour dance clinic is for kids in Kindergarten though 6th Grade. Participants will work on dance skills, play games and learn a dance to be performed with the award-winning GHS Dance Team at a Golden High School Basketball game on February 12 at 7 p.m.
