Dress up your pup and join about 2,000 other animal lovers for a parade and fair in downtown Golden.
Hundreds of pups in costume will stroll down Washington Avenue and end in Parfet Park for a family-friendly fair.
The parade is free to watch, while parade entrants are $25 per pup. Proceeds of this annual event benefit the more than 12,000 animals that Foothills Animal Shelter cares for annually.

Celebrate women at the 5th annual Jeffco International Women’s Day on March 3 at Baldoria on the Water, 146 Van Gordon Street in Lakewood. The event is sponsored by SCL Health Lutheran and the City of Golden, with additional corporate sponshorships from Genesee Mountain Foundation, IX Power Clean Water, and corporate contributor, Coach Stacy’s Healthy U. Proceeds will benefit Porchlight Family Justice Center and the Jefferson County Library Foundation.
CU Regent Heidi Ganahl & founder of “Camp Bow Wow” will be the keynote speaker at this event during lunch. The winner of the “Unsung Heroine” Award will be announced as well, and Marjorie Sloan will be presented with the “Shattered Glass” Award. The second open house for the US6 & Heritage Interchange redesign will take place on Wednesday, February 24 at 6 p.m. The virtual meeting will include a presentation describing four alternatives for the interchange with an opportunity to ask questions and provide input. Join our Public Works staff and hired consultants for the next US6 & Heritage Road Interchange public meeting, happening Wednesday, June 9 at 6 p.m. The focus of the meeting will be pedestrian and bike improvements.

The City of Golden is kicking off a project to plan and design transportation improvements along US 40 (West Colfax Avenue) between Violet Street and I-70. This project aims to enhance transportation choices and connectivity while increasing safety.
Community members will have the opportunity to learn about the project and provide feedback regarding their vision for the corridor during the project’s first open house, being held online at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 29. Initial community input will be used to help evaluate improvement alternatives.
