Join us for three Friday nights of free family-friendly movies and live music over the course of the summer:  July 7, Aug. 4 and Sept. 1.

The August 4 event of the free series will hosted in Parfet Park (10th Street and Washington Avenue) in downtown Golden.

Come out to Fire Station #1 at 911 10th Street on Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a free, Fire Prevention Week Safety Day, sponsored with the help of local and regional partners.

Activities for all ages will be featured, including fire truck tours, live fire demonstrations, and the opportunity to practice hands-on fire safety skills with first responders.

Light refreshments provided.

Find out how your neighbors are living better AND saving money at the annual Metro Denver Green Homes Tour. This year, the tour features an outstanding group of fifteen homes that have opened their doors wide in welcome, ready to inspire your eco-friendly home innovations.

All the homes are described in a large colorful booklet that is free with each $10 ticket.

Afterward, don’t miss the free Green Expo and Reception at the American Mountaineering Center from 5 to 7 p.m.

Following the Metro Denver Green Homes Tour, come out to the American Mountaineering Center for a free celebration of all things green!

Come explore an eco-friendly tiny home, visit the solar growing dome, try demo bikes and explore the EV Roundup of locally owned EV’s and new dealer models.

Enjoy free appetizers, local beverages and live music. It’s an event not to be missed!

Experience the beauty of the holiday season with a walk down Washington Ave., candle (or glowstick) in hand, singing carols on Friday, Dec. 1.

The pre-walk holiday show starts at 5 p.m. on the stage at 10th and Washington. The walk starts at 6:30 p.m. in front of Foothills Art Center on 15th St.

The Golden Concert Choir will perform their annual holiday concert favorites on December 2 at 4 p.m. at Calvary Church, 1320 Arapahoe St. (Doors open at 3 p.m.)

Bursting with Colorado charm and holiday spirit, Golden’s holiday parade is a beloved family-friendly tradition.

The parade route runs along Washington Ave. from 10th St. to 13th St. and will feature elves, floats, Victorian carolers, antique cars, the Grinch, Santa, and tons of joy!

Get your furry boots and Viking horns out! It’s time for Ullrgrass, the 3-day festival named for the Norse God of Winter that highlights local talents as well as some well-known bluegrass performers.

The festival features a costume contest, troubadours and beer from over 30 breweries.

The best way to enjoy the event is to walk, cycle, or take public transit if you are able. If you need to drive, plan to park your muskox in the free Clear Creek lot at 304 10th St, in any of the downtown garages or surface lots, or use the on-street parking, following all relevant signs.
