Regulated Marijuana Licensing

There are currently no Regulated Marijuana Business Licenses available.

On June 14, 2022, City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2183, repealing Chapters 4.94 and 4.98 of the Golden Municipal Code, and replacing with a new Chapter 4.94 – Regulated Marijuana Licensing.

The newly adopted code allows the City of Golden to regulate up to four retail marijuana businesses within certain areas as identified on the Retail Marijuana Center Potential Locations map pdf download included on page 10 of the Ordinance, and included here as an image and a downloadable pdf.

City Council has allowed one license to be reserved for an existing medical marijuana licensee in Golden to apply for co-location, and one license to be reserved for an approved Social Equity Licensee application. In the event that a license becomes available, an application period will be assigned and posted on this page with process information. If more applications are received than available licenses, those applicants that receive Phase 1 approval will be entered into a random selection process.
