    Environmental Services, a Division of Public Works, oversees programs such as Backflow Prevention/Cross Connection Control, Drinking Water, Industrial Pretreatment and the PAYT trash and recycling program, and represents Golden on the Rooney Road Recycling Board, which provides disposal options to residents for household hazardous waste.

    Environmental Services ensures City compliance with state and federal programs as required under the Clean Water Act and the Safe Drinking Water Act. This includes conducting analysis to assure drinking water exceeds standards, analyzing water quality in Clear Creek at its tributaries, oversight of industrial discharges into the sanitary sewer, and a Stormwater program.
